Sustainability is in our origin

For us, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Mineiriana can only exist in harmony with nature and with our community. We want the water, soil and air of Ipoema entirely preserved for the future generations.

Our processes reflect those values in many different ways:

- The fertilization of the Mineiriana´s sugarcane field follows organic processes that includes no pesticides. The leaves of the sugarcane are the first element that enriches the soil, and are used alongside the chicken litter that comes  from the farms of Itabira; The vinasse and the sugarcane bagasse also guarantee the enrichment of the soil through the exclusive use of natural means.

- The bagasse´s ashes are used both on the sugarcane field and our vegetable garden, and help us balancing the acidity of the soil. Our garden produces food for our labor force´ s consumption all year long.

- The vinasse is diluted throughout the reuse of the water previously used in the bottling area. Then it is used in the ferti-irrigation of the sugarcane.field.

-  The weeding is all manual.

- The waters of Ipoema are so good that dispense the use of any kind of chemical element for correction. They only undergo ultraviolet treatment, in order to provide even more purity to the production process.

- All the water used for cooling the still recirculates into a closed system exclusively designed for Mineiriana, which results in a drastic reduction of the water expenditure.
